Principal’s Message

“My soul is filled with delight and consolation at the thought of the good that is being done through our weak efforts sustained by the grace of God” – St.Mary Euphrasia

On behalf of St. Bridget’s Convent and the entire fraternity of Good Shepherd Sisters, first of all, I extend my most sincere thanks to God Almighty for His blessings over me.

I take up this huge responsibility as the principal of this great Institution with humble trust in God and prayer that he will keep me faithful in all that I have been entrusted to do.

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this message as the Principal of St.Bridget’s Collegiate School, Colombo 7.   I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition which holds the pride of the Bridgeteens.

As our mission statement which I quote here, “To be a center of learning that integrates spiritual and quality education, opening ourselves to accept the realities of the life and changing world and to share the true love of Jesus the good shepherd with both teachers and students”,  provides a clear understanding of our school’s outcome,  there’s no doubt that the current and the past Bridgeteens have been blessed with numerous opportunities.

Our school embraces diversity and strives to provide an academically challenging environment in order to foster intellectual curiosity and a sense of responsibility for each student. This is done by preparing our students for the future by providing knowledge and skills to achieve academic excellence, personal growth and positive approach towards life in a conducive environment. The purpose of the school is to enhance the self-confidence and self-awareness about their capability and aptitude.

We, the staff of St.Bridget’s Convent commit to a strong academic education of every student, supplemented by a vibrant selection of extra-curricular activities to enrich their academic and social lives. We plan our curricular and co-curricular activities so as to make the students confident, independent, and versatile by bringing out their innate qualities to discover, to participate, and to perform in various life situations.

As the great saint, St.Bridget was a strong, intelligent, and compassionate woman who was dedicated to her calling and dedicated to helping people, we are here to nurture our students so that they too will become strong, intelligent, holistic, and compassionate citizens one day.

Thank you

May God Bless you
